In January 2021, Jansen AG acquired the subsidiary RP Technik GmbH from the Welser Profile Group. The aim of the acquisition was to strengthen and expand the company's international position in steel systems for windows, doors and facades.
Since then, Jansen AG and RP Technik GmbH have been managed as two independently operating companies. This was based on the strategy of positioning Jansen and RP Technik as complementary brands, addressing different customer groups and consequently being able to better serve the markets. Despite intensive efforts, it has become clear that the advantages of a two-brand strategy do not justify the costs of overlapping organisational structures.
This situation prompted the shareholders of Jansen AG to examine the strategic options in detail. As part of their corporate responsibility, and after careful consideration, they have decided to discontinue the business activities of RP Technik GmbH as of 31 December 2024. They are convinced that this measure will further strengthen the Group's competitive capacity.
As a result of the changes, the Jansen AG headquarters in Oberriet will increase in importance for the Group. The portfolio, which has been expanded to include RP Technik products, and the resulting logistics services will in future be handled by the Oberriet site. This will also be accompanied by extensive investments in logistics.
For the employees of RP Technik GmbH at the Bönen site, socially acceptable solutions (social plan and reconciliation of interests) are being negotiated in close consultation with the works council.
