Building Information Modeling
Enhanced with geometric features and relevant product data, Building Information Modelling (BIM) enables the virtual representation of a real building in 3D. Thanks to digital data preparation, Jansen supports architects and planners from the very first stages of conceptualisation, planning and specification.
Digital transformation is fundamentally changing the construction industry. It is replacing the usual tools and creating new methods.
Jansen has been working with BIM since 2015 and the BIM competence centre "Technology & Digital" has been in place at the company since the beginning of 2018. Jansen is part of the manufacturer initiative "productsforbim". The aim of the initiative is to ensure the practical implementation of digital manufacturer information in order to drive forward digital processes for planners, fabricators, product manufacturers and building operators.
2024: In order to fulfil environmental requirements in the building sector and to make data even more transparent for architects and planners, Jansen offers access to EPD values via IFC files. The EPD values can be viewed on the buildup page under the properties tab for the respective product. Jansen has been the first provider to offer this service for all available products since 2024.
BIMobject
Jansen offers BIM models of various steel systems via the BIMobject cloud; additions to the systems are continually made.
productsforbim
productsforbim was founded in order to make it possible for manufacturers to contribute to BIM with their digital services.
buildingSMART
Since May 2017, Jansen has been a member of buildingSMART, the competence network and think-tank for BIM.
Bundesverband Bausysteme e.V.
Jansen is a member of the Bundesverband Bausysteme as part of the manufacturer initative for digital building products (productsforbim).

buildup supports manufacturers of construction products in the targeted digitisation of their product portfolio.
