Recycling
We work intensively with various recycling partners to use materials more efficiently and separate recyclable materials in an optimized way.
One example of a sustainable product is AquaCell NG, the innovative drainage system for water management, which is made entirely from recyclable plastic. This system supports construction companies, engineers and installers in the installation of high-performance trenches.
Recycling
Every year, we recycle around 450,000 kg of plastic materials, which are reused internally in pipe production for approved products. Among other things, we are working on solutions to reprocess composite pipe waste.
Swiss collection point network for PE raw waste
As a member of the VKR, we are actively committed to expanding the Swiss network for the collection of PE pipe waste from civil engineering and the geothermal sector. To make it easier for you to access the collection points, we have included a link below to an overview of the collection point network locations.
Product life cycle

Plastics impress with their durability. With state-of-the-art technology and qualified employees, we offer durable products. One example of high-quality plastic solutions is the JANSEN hipress, which has a service life of at least 50 years.
The MOL Campus in Budapest relies on a sustainable energy concept that supports a future-oriented corporate vision. The heating and cooling system is based on renewable energies and comprises over 300 geothermal probes and a borehole length of 32,800 meters. Jansen AG delivered a solution that enables an efficient heating and cooling supply with 45°C hot water for 50 years.
Efficiency and energy savings
Energy efficiency is based on various optimizations and savings. Examples of current measures:
- Waste heat recovery from air compressors
We save 87,500 kWh of energy per year for heating support in production and at the same time avoid 23,218 tonsof CO2 emissions. - Replacing the granulators
Two existing granulators were replaced with a more efficient granulator. Annual saving: 24,000 kWh - Focus on energy consumption with new equipment
We procure new equipment with a view to improving overall efficiency. - Optimization of refrigeration
The elimination of heat exchangers generated savings in refrigeration by reducing the temperature loss of 2-3°C over 5,100 hours. In 2024, we had energy savings of 50,000 kWh/year. Jansen is thus making a substantial contribution to reducing energy consumption.
Family business for over 100 years
Sustainability has always been a key issue for this traditional family business, now in its third generation. Discover how we are making a positive impact on the future through innovation and responsibility.

Investment in solar power

As part of its sustainability strategy and future-oriented development, Jansen is rapidly continuing the expansion of PV systems, thereby fulfilling its corporate responsibility with regard to environmentally friendly energy production.
The new PV system on Hall D was completed at the beginning of February 2024. The first sections of the system have already been connected to our grid since December 2023. The new system has an output of over 2.15 MWp and covers the annual needs of around 500-700 households. A total of over 5,000 modules with an output of 435 W were installed during construction. Following the construction of the PV system on Hall L (608 kWp) in 2022, this is now the second large-scale system to be built in the last two years. Several systems were already installed on the Jansen site in the years around 2010. For example, the roof of Hall M, which was one of the first Minergie-certified production halls, is also covered with PV modules.
With the new system, the Jansen site will now produce around 3 GWh of electricity per year itself. This makes Jansen AG's plant park one of the largest solar power plants in the region. Further projects are already planned. The long-term goal is to ensure that production operations are as autonomous as possible.
