100 years ago, Josef Jansen laid the foundation for today's company, which develops, manufactures and distributes steel profile systems as well as plastic products for the construction sector and industry. For decades, Jansen AG has been the largest employer in the community of Oberriet and has played a significant role in its development. Even the founder Josef Jansen was known as a respectful and appreciative employer who put the employees in the center. Thanks to the togetherness, he and the following generations Walter, Leo and Peter Jansen succeeded in motivating the employees, driving them to innovation and promoting the future-oriented action and further development of the family business. This is exactly what Priska Jansen and Christoph Jansen are doing today.
Big party for employees, retirees and guests
For Priska Jansen and Christoph Jansen - who jointly manage Jansen AG in the third generation - it was quickly clear that their employees, partners and retirees should be the focus of the anniversary activities. In addition to them, around 100 long-standing friends, companions and partners from the region were invited to the anniversary summer night party. This took place in a festively decorated industrial hall of Jansen AG. Uncomplicated, cozy and down-to-earth. Guests were able to enjoy delicacies from the countries and regions in which the family-owned company is represented at various food stands. The audience was entertained by the Edelwiiss trio from the Oberrheintal Music School, the HGH mood band, the eight-piece a cappella formation Apacella, and comedian Fabian Unteregger. A special highlight for the employees was that Leo and Peter Jansen attended the big anniversary celebration as representatives of the second Jansen generation. In conversation with moderator Ralph Dietsche, they recounted episodes from their childhood and entrepreneurship.
Free day and balloon ride for all employees
As a further anniversary activity, Jansen AG has had its own hot air balloon manufactured. It will be flown by the SkyFun team from St. Margrethen. All employees are invited to enjoy a ride in the Jansen hot air balloon free of charge and get a bird's eye view of the company premises and the Rhine Valley. It is planned that in the future special customer events will take place with the Jansen hot air balloon. To mark the company's 100th birthday, Priska Jansen and Christoph Jansen are also giving employees an extra day off. A special joy for the third Jansen generation is that the fourth generation with Nicolas and Sophie is already taking a strong interest in the family business.
Excursion for all students
In his anniversary speech, Oberriet's mayor Rolf Huber praised Jansen AG's 100 years of loyalty to Oberriet, its uncomplicated cooperation, and its great commitment to and for the community. One of the most recent commitments is related to the 100th anniversary. On the occasion of this anniversary, Jansen AG invited all students in the community of Oberriet - from the first kindergarten to the third upper school - to a day trip. The classes could decide for themselves whether they wanted a visit to the Walter Zoo in Gossau, a stay at the Zurich Zoo or the Technorama in Winterthur. In addition to the entrance fees, the family-owned company, which is celebrating its anniversary, also offered the schools the cost of travel by public transport and lunch. In total, around 1,200 children and young people enjoyed an excursion organized by the Jansen company.
Thanks to the workforce and retiree
The Jansen family was particularly pleased with the speeches of thanks by Daniel Mattle as a member of the Personnel Commission and by Peter Amsler as President of the Jansen Pensioners' Association. In their words, both praised the achievements of the entrepreneurial family as well as their commitment to the employees and pensioners. This appreciation shows that the working atmosphere is appreciated and gratefully acknowledged
